Short Biography & Significant Contribution

Dr. Christopher S. Collins is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Hawai'I at Manoa. He has been contributing to the world of comparative and international education since receiving his Ph.D at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2009. Upon graduation, Dr. Collins received the "Best Dissertation Award" from the Higher Education and Organizational Change program at the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA.

Professor Collins research interests include the role of higher education related to poverty reduction, knowledge extension, and social rates of return. Dr. Collins has publish numerous journals, articles, and chapters, individually or co-authored with renowned professors in the field of comparative and international education. He recently worked on projects with the Association for Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU) looking at African-U.S. university partnerships. He is also working with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) looking at degree qualifications.
