CIEclopedia.org

CIEclopedia is an online who's who database of noticeable contributors to the field of comparative and international education. International in scope, CIEclopedia reflects the life and works of individuals who have pitched in their share of developing the field that has evolved over decades and throughout the world.

CIEclopedia was founded in 2006 by Sina Mossayeb (Founding Editor) at Teachers College, Columbia University, with the support of Professor Gita Steiner-Khamsi, and moved to Office of Education Research, National Institute of Education, Singapore in 2009, with Professor Maria Manzon as its edtitor. Thanks to them and to our co-sponsors, we have this valuable resource on the human histories underlying the field of comparative and international education.

From 2022 on, the Institute of International and Comparative Education at Beijing Normal University, China, will host the CIEclopedia. Comparative and international education has developed rapidly in recent decades, and a large number of active scholars have emerged in this field. Following the purpose of the CIEclopedia, we envision that our database will be more universal in scope, encompassing scholars from time past and time present coming from different parts of the globe and representing diverse approaches to the field. We sincerely invite you to contribute to this novel reflection of active educators in comparative and international education studies. Your submissions will be a valuable service to past, present, and future generations in our field. I look forward to your active contributions.
