IICE Professor JIANG Yingmin and Associate Professor DING Ruichang Attended the China-Japan Symbiotic International Understanding Education Curriculum Development Seminar in Ningbo

Under the guidance of IICE Professor JIANG Yingmin, the "Symbiotic Understanding Education Seminar Project among China, Japan and Korea" has now entered its tenth year. On October 29, 2023, IICE Professor JIANG Yingmin attended the China-Japan "Symbiotic" International Understanding Education Curriculum Development Seminar in Ningbo. The seminar was hosted by Ningbo Nottingham University Affiliated Middle School and featured participants such as IICE Professor JIANG Yingmin, IICE Associate Professor DING Ruichang, Honorary Professor Morishige Takeo from Central University in Japan, Professor Kamita Satoshi from Joetsu University, Lecturer Shen Lihua from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Director Jiang Lingyan from the China Education International Exchange Association, and teachers from Joetsu University Affiliated Middle School. Researchers and frontline teachers specializing in international understanding education from both China and Japan gathered to participate in the curriculum development discussions.




On October 30, Ms. He Xiaoyun, a teacher from Ningbo Nottingham University Affiliated Middle School, conducted a public class demonstration on the topic "If a Good Friend Takes My Chocolate", followed by a discussion among the participants. Then, Professor Kamita Satoshi and teacher Sato Daisuke from Joetsu University Affiliated Middle School jointly gave a lecture on the theme of "Development of 'Symbiotic' International Understanding Education Curriculum". Additionally, Professor Morishige Takeo from Central University in Japan delivered a lecture on "Development of International Understanding Education Curriculum with Museums as a Theme". IICE Professor JIANG translated the lecture content and engaged in in-depth discussions with speakers and other participants.



During the curriculum seminar, participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of "symbiotic" coexistence and reaffirmed the value of "symbiotic" coexistence in the development of international understanding education curricula. Furthermore, the seminar outlined that the next round of topic discussions would take place in South Korea in November.
