PISA for Development' Project as an Example
Publish Date:2024-04-23

On April 23, 2024, IICE Lecturer LI Xiaomin delivered a lecture titled "Research on the Legitimacy of OECD's Participation in Global Education Governance: Taking the 'PISA for Development' Project as an Example". The lecture was chaired by Professor LIU Baocun.

Lecturer LI first introduced the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and the "PISA for Development(PISA-D)" project. She then conducted a systematic and in-depth analysis of the "PISA-D" project, pointing out that it is a significant approach for the OECD to expand its evaluation tools and achieve a "moral shift" in the context of the global education sustainable development goals (SDG 4). During the lecture, Lecturer LI shared insights on how to select theoretical perspectives and analytical frameworks, and discussed how to use different theories to reveal the complexity and richness of the issues involved.

At the end of the lecture, Lecturer LI engaged in an in-depth discussion with the attending teachers and students on topics such as the "sample defects in the 'PISA-D' project", the "prerequisites for the legitimacy of international organizations", the "interest demands of participating countries", and "how to construct a local knowledge system".
