On December 2, 2020, the 2020 "Belt and Road" Education Forum, jointly organized by Beijing Normal University and the Russian National Research University of Economics, was held online. The meeting, with the theme of “Educational Cooperation and Development under the Belt & Road Framework”, invited education experts and scholars from China, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Israel and other countries, as well as from the UNESCO Almaty Office, the UNESCO Institute for Capacity Building in Africa, and the Secretariat of the Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization Heads of other international organizations.

IICE Professor LIU Baocun was invited to attend this forum and delivered a speech entitled “The status quo, problems and recommendations of International Students along the 'Belt and Road' studying in China”. Professor LIU first demonstrated the development trend of international student education around the world. In the context of the development of international student education, he analyzed the achievements and existing problems of the development of academic qualifications and education of countries along the "Belt and Road" in China and put forward implications based on international comparisons. He further developed policy recommendations for facilitating higher-quality educational exchanges between countries along the “Belt and Road”.
