From November 28th to 30th, 2020, the 2020 Academic Annual Meeting of Chinese Society for Educational Development Strategies was held in Beijing. The theme of the meeting was “Winning a well-off society in an all-round way and the ‘14th Five-Year’ Education Development Strategy”. The annual meeting was held both online and offline. Nearly 300 members and expert representatives from all over the country attended the on-site meeting.

IICE Professor LIU Baocun was invited to attend this conference and delivered a speech entitled “Educational Soft Power Construction and International Educational Exchange” at the sub-forum “Historical Opportunities and Challenges in the Opening of Education in the New Era”. Professor LIU analyzed the connotation and essence of soft power in education, analyzed the advantages and problems of soft power in education in my country from the perspective of international comparison, and put forward policy recommendations for enhancing soft power in education from the perspective of international education exchanges and cooperation.
