On November 14, 2020, the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industry Forum on Education Integration and Innovation opened at South China Normal University in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. The theme of this conference was "Regional Cooperation and Collaborative Innovation under the Reconstruction of Global Governance System: Focusing on Southeast Asia and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Guests from Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei and the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries and more than 200 experts, scholars and industry professionals from over 70 units including universities, think tanks, scientific research institutes and enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau attended the conference.

IICE Professor LIU was invited to attend this conference and gave a speech entitled "Research on the Development Path of ASEAN Higher Education Regionalization from the Perspective of FOPA Model". Professor LIU used Jane Knight's FOPA model to analyze the development path of ASEAN higher education regionalization and its progress, and put forward policy recommendations to strengthen China-ASEAN higher education cooperation.
