On October 21, 2020, IICE Professor TENG Jun was invited to participate in the “Seminar on Distinctive Courses for Basic Education” as part of the “2020 South and Southeast Asia Education Cooperation Cloud Forum”. Prof. TENG delievered a speech entitled "Some Thoughts on Global Competence in China".

This basic education characteristic course seminar was undertaken by the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Education and Sports, co-organized by the Kunming Academy of Educational Sciences and Kunming Railway Vocational and Technical College. With the theme of "Hand in Hand, Promoting Development Together", through domestic and foreign advanced basic education characteristic course seminars, the forum was aimed at exchanging and sharing high school high-quality international curriculum education concepts, curriculum systems, teaching methods and evaluation methods, learning from the experience and practices of international education in advanced regions at home and abroad, promoting the exchange of educational resources and information, and strengthening the education collaboration between Kunming, South Asia, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions.

In this seminar, Prof. TENG and a number of education experts from Thailand, Myanmar, the United States and China, based on their respective research fields, exchanged ideas on the educational philosophy, curriculum system, teaching methods and evaluation methods of basic education in international schools’ courses.
