Professor WANG Yingjie was commissioned as a Erasmus Mundus scholar, and traveled to University of Tampere, Finland to lecture for the Master of Research and Innovations in Higher Education (MARIHE).
MARIHE is an international Master’s program that first started recruitment in 2012, and it builds on the expertise of its international consortium partners: Danube University Krems (Austria), University of Tampere (Finland), University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück (Germany) and Beijing Normal University (China). Prof. WANG teaches the Class of 2012 Comparative Research Analysis, and his humorous and light-hearted teaching has been well-reviewed by many of his students. This is also the first time that a faculty from Beijing Normal University has been involved in MARIHE teaching in Europe, and it’s a great opportunity to showcase the high standards of faculty in Chinese higher education institutions; it’s also an important milestone for the Erasmus Mundus.
During his visit to the University of Tempere, Prof. WANG held a public lecture titled “Social Change and Higher Education Reform in China” as per invitation by the Center for Chinese Education Research. This public lecture not only attracted many Tempere staff and students to attend, but also served as a great review to the major changes in Chinese society and the necessary measures concerning higher education.
In addition, Prof. WANG was also invited to the Department of Education - Chinese Embassy to Finland and the Higher Education Research Center – University of Tempere School of Management, where he exchanged views about deepening the collaboration of education research and teaching between China and Finland.
