Following this, he introduced the higher education systems under the larger social circumstances of different eastern and western nations along with elaborating upon the impact on Europe brought by East Asian nations’ economic success. Then Prof. Teichler compared the commonality and differences between higher education in eastern and western nations from the perspectives of educational ideas, the influence of state authorities on education, educational patterns of first-class universities, higher education internationalization, professionalism of university professors, and so on. Lastly, Prof. Teichler engaged in an exchange with the audience about issues of higher educational systems, educational patterns, and academic status of professionals in different nations’ universities.
