Analysis on Innovation and Reform in Higher Education - Main Issues Concerning Education Reform from an International Perspective: International Education Symposium (No.90)

 On Mar. 9, 2016, Associate Professor CAI Yuzhuo from the Higher Education Group (HEG) in the School of Management of the University of Tampere (Finland) delivered a lecture entitled “Analysis on Innovation and Reform in Higher Education - Main Issues Concerning Education Reform from an International Perspective” for the IICE’s International Education Podium. The lecture was attended by faculty, Master’s and PhD students.

 

Professor CAI is co-founder of the Chinese Education Research & Exchange Centre of the University of Tampere, a centre which was established in 2011, and director of the Sino-Finnish Education Innovation Institute. He is currently a guest professor at the IICE, BNU and the co-convener of the Thematic Research Group on “Entrepreneurial Universities” in the Triple Helix Association. His main teaching and research areas include organization theory, higher education policy and administration, internationalization of higher education, and innovation studies.

 

The lecture, which focused on innovation in higher education, began with Prof. CAI’s introduction on his research into the innovation gap in higher education. He then elaborated on an innovation model, which included aspects such as social background, innovation goal, innovation mode, innovation category, nature and phases of innovation. Lastly, he explained that many problems can be solved by the use of this innovation model in the field of innovation management of higher education.

 

At the end of the lecture, Professor CAI had discussions and exchanges with all the attendees.
