Standards and norms of academic paper assessment in the U.S.: International Education Symposium (No.77)

         On June 8, 2015, Dr. LIN Jing, Professor of International Education Policy at the University of Maryland, USA, delivered the above-titled lecture for the IICE’s International Education Podium. The lecture was chaired by Professor LIU Baocun and attended by Master‘s and PhD students.


       In the lecture, Professor LIN discussed standards and differences in assessing academic papers between China and the West, particularly what defines an excellent academic paper. She comparatively discussed research epistemologies, ways of gathering and analyzing data for an academic paper, and ways these academic papers may be evaluated in such contexts as a journal review.
