Prof. Kevin Kinser from State University of New York at Albany, presented the 55th International Education Symposium lecture “Cross-border Higher Education and Quality Assurance” for IICE in Room 723, Yingdong Building in Beijing Normal University. The symposium was moderated by Teng Jun (associate professor), and attended by doctoral and Master’s students from IICE.
The research scopes for Prof. Kevin Kinser mainly include: cross-border higher education, profitable higher education, international higher education policy and higher education quality assurance. He is also the editor of Higher Education in the United States: An Encyclopedia. Prof. Kevin Kinser pointed out that cross-border higher education includes some international subdivisions which are located in different countries rather than the main campuses. Besides, these subdivisions are managed and funded by the headquarters in academy and administration. Quality assurance of cross-border higher education mainly lies in the diversity of higher education, the need of academy, internationalization and modern educational system. In addition, quality assurance should coincide with the aim of higher education and satisfy the need of the mass and society.
At last, Prof. Kevin Kinser closely discussed and communicated with the participants on cross-border higher education. The lecture was popular among students.
