On the afternoon of September 27, 2013, Prof. Keith Lewin from University of Sussex, gave a lecture titled “Global Architectures for Development after 2015:Beyond the Millennium Development Goals for Education” for the 44th International Education Symposium of International and Comparative Education Research Institute in Room 723, Yingdong Building, Beijing Normal University. The lecture was hosted by Dr. Liu Qiang. The postgraduates in each grades and a part of teachers from International and Comparative Education Research Institute attended this lecture actively.
Prof. Keith Lewin is a famous professor of University of Sussex, and his main fields of study include: Comparative Education, Education Management, Education Economy, Teacher Education and Technology Education Policy, and etc. He used to work for the World Bank, UNICEF, UENSCO and gave advice to the administrative departments of education of the UK and Australia. Professor Keith Lewin thought that there are some characteristics in the development of education, such as overall, long-term and strategic, and there exists a contradiction between the advance of development goals for education and the feasibility of the development of education, but at the same time, we also need to solve the problems of the quality and equality of education.
Lastly, Prof. Keith Lewin had a great discussion with the audience, and this was a great complement to his content-rich, fact-based, and enjoyable presentation.
