The Launch Event for the 8th Chinese Special Issue of NORRAG Held Successfully

On Friday, November 15, 2024, the online launch event for the 8th Chinese Special Issue of NORRAG, titled The Education-Training-Work Continuum: Pathways for Youth and Adults to Achieve Socio-Professional Inclusion, was successfully held. The event was hosted by IICE Associate Professor HU Yiyun, with participation from academic colleagues.


During the first phase of the event, IICE Professor TENG Jun, editor-in-chief of the NORRAG Chinese Special Issue, introduced the basic background of the special issue to the attendees. Associate Professor HU Yiyun elaborated on the theme and editorial principles of this Chinese edition, focusing on the continuity between education, training, and work. The issue highlights vocational education and employment, including 12 articles from the original English version of NORRAG Issue 8, along with 2 specially commissioned articles for the Chinese edition, addressing both international and domestic concerns.





In the second phase, the Chinese editorial team shared localized research findings from the issue. Associate Professor BAI Bin's team from the Institute of Vocational and Adult Education at Beijing Normal University presented their research on The Implementation Effectiveness of the 1+X Vocational Certificate PolicyA Case Study of the Automotive Field, analyzing current challenges and solutions in the issuance of vocational certificates in China. IICE Li Zitong and Li Jingyan shared their study Promoting the Linkage Between Education, Training, and Work: A Literature Review of NORRAG Issue 08, summarizing the issue's content from the perspectives of informal off-campus training and formal in-school training.





The attendees then engaged in discussions with the editorial team on the theme of "Continuity between Education, Training and Work". Finally, IICE Associate Professor HUANG Yu provided a summary of the special issue and the launch event.
