IICE Professor TENG Jun Attended in the Curriculum Development Seminar of the International Competence Development Committee

On May 23, 2022, IICE Professor TENG Jun was invited to participate in the curriculum development seminar of the International Competence Development Committee. The International Competence Development Committee is the second-level branch of the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy, jointly exploring the training mode of international competent talents to serve education development and strategy. For talent cultivation in international organizations, talent cultivation for international exchanges and cooperation in the new era, and cultivation for global competent talents three area, it established a work exchange and sharing platform, a cooperation and collaboration mechanism, an expert think tank, and provided consulting services, etc. As a member of the first academic and consulting expert committee, IICE Professor TENG Jun has been actively participating in a series of activities of the International Competence Development Committee, such as the writing of annual reports, the establishment of international journals, and the development of professional courses.

 

The meeting mainly focused on the research and development of international competency courses. Aiming at the weak areas of contemporary Chinese young students in terms of international competency, this course was co-operated by the International Competence Development Committee and the GEC Academy, which completed the top-level design and development work of course project through domestic and foreign research, project research, systematic research and development, expert demonstration, etc. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Ning, chairman of the committee, and experts and scholars from various universities participated in the discussion. Professor TENG suggested that the course design should increase specific cases appropriately, and also organize students to improve their overall abilities through project learning. At the same time, she suggested adding a peer tutor system, and making full use of the existing young staff and trainee of international organizations to accompany students. Other guests also put forward many constructive and valuable suggestions. Everyone expressed their expectation that the course would take shape as soon as possible, serve the development of more Chinese youth, and help the overall development strategy of the country's international talent training.
