Director LIU Baocun was invited to National Academy of Education Administration to lecture for the 2nd 1000 Mid-west University Chancellor Overseas Advanced Training Program. The topic for Director LIU’s lecture was “The Course and Trends in World Higher Education Reform.” He introduced the challenges and problems facing Higher Education worldwide, and the rise and development in Higher Education since the 1980s. He also illustrated the course and trends of Higher Education Reform worldwide from the perspective of talent nurturing, government relations, the building of world-class universities, cooperation with industries, and higher education globalization.
The 1000 Mid-west University Chancellor Overseas Advanced Training Program is funded by a generous 80millian yuan donation from the Hong Kong Lee Shau Kee Foundation and the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the program aims to send 1000 Mid-West Higher Education management personnel overseas to receive further training between the years 2012-2014. The program aims to improve higher education standards in the Mid-West region and to elevate the higher education management in the Mid-West. The 2nd Class of management personnel are numbered at over 100 people, divided into 5 cohorts for pre-departure training before they embark on the training program abroad.
