IICE Held the EU Erasmus Mundus Higher Education Research and Innovation (MARIHE) Master's Program Alliance Working Conference

On October 15-17, 2024, the EU Erasmus Mundus "Higher Education Research and Innovation" (MARIHE) Master's Program Alliance Working Conference was successfully held at IICE, Beijing Normal University. Representatives from Beijing Normal University, the University of Continuing Education Krems in Austria, the University of Tampere in Finland, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in Germany, Roland University in Hungary, and the University of Aveiro in Portugal attended the conference.

IICE Professor LIU Baochun and Lecturer LI Xiaomin represented the Chinese side at the meeting. Professor TENG Jun, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education at BNU, was invited to attend and delivered the welcome address.


During the conference, participants discussed various aspects of the MARIHE program, including admission standards, curriculum design, teaching plans, evaluation criteria, and management systems. They also engaged in discussions with MARIHE students currently enrolled at BNU.




The "Higher Education Research and Innovation" Master's Program launched in 2012, was co-initiated by the University of Continuing Education Krems (Austria), Beijing Normal University, the University of Tampere (Finland), and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Germany), along with other full partner institutions. The program has successfully enrolled nine cohorts and trained high-level, internationally oriented professionals in the field of higher education research and practice. After successfully completing two phases with nine cohorts, the third phase of the program has been approved, with the number of full partner institutions increasing to seven.

The goal of this working conference was to enhance the management of the Erasmus Master's Program and address challenges encountered during its operation. Beijing Normal University, as a full partner institution in this project, has contributed to raising the level of internationalization in talent cultivation and has strengthened China's influence in international collaborative programs.
